A compassionate approach to meaningful change.

About Dr Christine

Counselling Psychologist.

Animal lover.

Career changer.

I am a Counselling Psychologist offering compassionate, thoughtful and individualised psychological therapy for adults. I’m an animal lover and career changer who greatly appreciates the role of nature, animals, exercise, community, and relationships in our health and psychological wellbeing. I’m also neurodivergent. I became a Counselling Psychologist after 16 years of working in HR leadership & programme management roles in London & Zurich.

My work is grounded in the understanding that many emotional difficulties are understandable responses to the experiences we’ve lived through. For instance, experiences such as trauma, abuse, living with a neurodivergent brain, loss, grief, illness, discrimination, or long-term stress can shape how relate to ourselves, others and the world.

How I’ll support you

  • Perhaps you're navigating anxiety, depression, bereavement or loss, struggling to cope with a life transition or relationship difficulties. Maybe you're having difficulty with issues of identity, physical health challenges, trauma, abuse or neurodivergence. Or you might just simply want to work on self-confidence, self-esteem or seek a deeper self-understanding. Whatever you're hoping for, I'm here to help. Psychological support will empower you to build resilience and elicit meaningful change.

  • My areas of expertise include:

    • Anxiety & stress management

    • Depression & low mood

    • Bereavement, grief & loss

    • Life stage changes

    • Relationships difficulties

    • Physical health and long-term/chronic health conditions

    • Trauma and abuse

    • Navigating neurodivergence

    • Issues of self-esteem, self-confidence and personal growth

    • Self-criticism and perfectionism

  • I am a neurodivergent-affirming counselling psychologist who has trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. I work pluralistically. In practice, this means I work with each client in a tailored way, depending on their needs and preferences. I might draw on humanistic approaches such as person-centred and existential therapy, third-wave approaches such as compassion-focused therapy (CFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or relational psychodynamic therapy to guide our sessions. I also welcome approaches that consider, power, marginalisation and oppression and how this informs and impacts your experiences.

  • I welcome neurodivergent clients, including autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic, and otherwise neurodivergent people. As a neuroaffirming psychologist:

    • I do not view neurodivergence as something to be fixed but rather as a difference.

    • I adapt communication, pace, environment and structure, where helpful

    • I am explicit rather than relying on unspoken expectations

    • I respect sensory, emotional, and cognitive differences

    • I recognise the impact of masking, burnout, and invalidation

As a trauma-informed psychologist, I prioritise your emotional and psychological safety, personal choice, and autonomy.

You are not expected to behave or communicate in a particular way in therapy.

  • Each person's story is unique and it's vital your voice is central to your therapy journey. Psychotherapy is not a magic bullet, but you stand a better chance with the right therapist. We’ll work together to understand what’s troubling you and what you wish to achieve, developing a therapeutic relationship that suits you. What's important is that you feel welcomed and included in the therapy space, no matter your identity, circumstances or how you define yourself.

  • Having a good, healthy therapeutic relationship can transform your relationships with yourself, the world, and others and help you process your experiences to build a more hopeful and meaningful future. I know how difficult reaching out can be. I’m here to take that journey with you, offering a neutral space to help you navigate life's changes and challenges. I’ll be beside you each step of the way.
